Julien Vinçonneau

Guitarist since the age of 9, after a long course of learning the instrument and then experiences in different bands of Rock and Funk, Julien goes to live in Ireland for a year in 2006 after finishing his studies in biology and environment. On the spot he will create a Jazz project that will develop on local scenes and Festivals in the Galway region (Galway Arts Festival, Project 06, etc…)

Back in France the desire to deepen his musical and human experiences will make him cross the route of the Conservatory of Nantes in 2007. He will study Jazz, writing, piano and drums.

After obtaining the DEM Jazz, his desire for expression brings him to composition. He founded the Julien Vinçonneau Quartet (JVQ) for which he created a hybrid Jazz, rock and pop influence repertoire. They will play at the Soleil Bleu Festival, the jazz à Vannes Festival, les Rendez-vous de l’Erdre, the Pannonica, the Salle Paul Fort (opening act of Jacky Terrasson), Sunset-Sunside (with Leila Martial as Guest),…

He will feed on landmark meetings like with Nelson Veras, for a premiere with JVQ (Soleil Bleu Festival in 2013) and Kurt Rosenwinkel for a Workshop in 2014 in Bagnoregio (Italy)

Then he met the singer Elodie Rama (Jazz/Soul/Carribean) in 2014 with whom he will share the scene of Les trois Baudets in Paris, Les Nuits Carrés Festival in Antibes, Stéréolux in Nantes, through a tour in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Jinan, etc…) and in various radios such as France Inter, France Culture and RFI…

He collaborates on original projects such as: The Big Band Sputnik (Hip Hop/Jazz) which will play at la Folles Journée in Nantes in 2013, Marilou sous la neige – Gainsbourg Experience (Jazz/Electro/Pop), Darwin Voyage dans le Temps (young public, jazz) as well as DBStraße ( Electro/Pop/song),…

Julien Vinçonneau Quartet (JVQ) recorded his debut Album “a Close Land and People" in February 2016 with distinguished guests like Leila Martial, Nelson Veras and Geoffroy Tamisier.

He was released on 30 November 2016 at Aloya Music, an independent Label of hybrid Jazz and mixed, of which he held the position of administrator.
